All About the Wine Festival in 2025

Pouring More Wine at the Uncorked San Diego Wine FestivalGreat Wine at the Uncorked San Diego Wine Festival

The Annual Uncorked San Diego Wine Festival is back in 2025 for a very special 10th anniversary event!

I look forward to this day each year as I think it just might be San Diego’s ultimate wine tasting experience for wine lovers and aficionados. Attendees will experience a beautiful venue, music, gourmet food trucks, and, of course, premium wines!

Date, Location & How to Get There

The 2025 Uncorked San Diego Wine Festival will be held on Saturday April 12th from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.

The event will be held at Marina Park North right next to Seaport Village, one of my favorite shopping areas in San Diego.

The address is 1 Embarcadero Marina North San Diego, CA 92101 but know that the event doesn’t provide any parking so it would be smart to take a rideshare to and from the event.

Another great local tip would be to take the FRED electric shuttle which runs from 8:00am – 8:00pm on the Saturday of the event. It could get you right up to the event without having to deal with the hassle of parking!

Activities, Wineries, and Food Trucks!

Balanced, earthy, fruity - these are just some of the flavors you’ll get to experience at the festival.

You can enjoy your favorite wines and bubblies as you take part in multiple wine tastings, lawn games, listen to renowned DJs, and drinks of different types by the water while pairing them with one (or multiple) food options from the handful of food trucks available at the event location.

Wineries & More

Dozens of wineries will be present at the 2025 event with more than 150 wines from around the world on offer. Some of my favorites from previous years were Booch Craft and Mark Herold Wines.

The great news for me and my wife is that Mark Herold Wines is back as are many from previous years. But if you are looking for new wines as well, there are plenty of first timers to the 2025 event as well. Below are some of the wineries and vineyards I think you should try!

  • The Ojai Vineyard
  • Mark Herold Wines
  • Calcada Wines
  • Clos De La Tech
  • Cordant Winery
  • Laird Family Estate
  • Louis Jadot
  • The Hess Collection
  • St. Francis Winery & Vineyards

You can also expect some “outside the bottle” options like canned cocktails and seltzers.

Zero Proof Wines & Mocktails

New to 2025, the organization is adding mocktails and zero proof wines which I think is a responsible move.

This allows people to have more fun without all the alcohol. Plus, for my friends that aren’t wine drinkers, this adds a twist to the event so they can join us this year and enjoy themselves as well!

Food Truck Options

There were several different food truck options at the 2024 event including:

  • The Deli Doctor
  • Big Oven Pizza
  • Doc Lobsta
  • Drippin’ Kitchen
  • Gnarly Nachos and Tacos
  • The Baja Shrimp

For the 2025 event, I’m hopeful Big Oven Pizza is there as well as The Baja Shrimp, my personal favorite, but we’ll just have to wait and see!

Wine Activities to Round Out the Experience

If you’re looking for a more immersive wine tasting experience, I think it’d be nice to pair a trip to the festival with the Little Italy Wine Tasting Walking Tour. The wine tasting tour is 3 hours long and offers multiple Italian wine and food tastings.

You’ll get to learn about different wine styles and pairing tips as you walk from stop to stop, taking in the many boutiques, historic buildings, and luxury high rises that Little Italy has to offer.

The Uncorked App

You can download the Uncorked Wine Festival’s app, Uncorked, to get a bunch of information about the event.

You can see all of the wines being sampled at the event, including bottle images and descriptions, as well as curate a personal wine list of your favorite wines, get info on the food vendors and sponsors, access the event map and more!

Where Do All the Proceeds from the Event Go?

I love how so many of San Diego’s events are to benefit a good cause and the Uncorked Wine Festival is no different!

Returning from 2024, this year’s event benefits the local non-profit Urban Surf 4 Kids, which provides surf therapy to foster kids and homeless children in the San Diego area.

Is the Wine Festival a Family Friendly Event? Are there Age Restrictions?

The event is 21+ only. No children are allowed, including infants and babies. Valid ID must be presented for entry to the event.

Also, rideshares like Uber and Lyft will be readily available to get you and your friends home safely!

Where Can I Stay Near the Festival?

If you’re looking for a place to rest and sleep off your afternoon of fun, my suggestion here is to book a room at the 4-star Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.

The nautical-themed, classic style hotel is conveniently located less than a mile from the event location, less than 2 miles from the San Diego International Airport (SAN), and offers spectacular views of the marina or waterfront skyline.

It also has clean, updated rooms, three pools and a fine dining restaurant.

How Can I Make the Most out of the Event?

My suggestion would be to consider purchasing a Go City San Diego pass in advance so you can enjoy up to 50+% off on other nearby attractions such as the The San Diego Museum of Art, San Diego Zoo, and the The Fleet Science Center with IMAX.

I really think you could make a nice weekend out of the event with a stay at the hotel, attending the festival itself and taking a wine tour or visiting a nearby Balboa Park or a San Diego area museum.

If you want to consider this idea, use discount code GVSD5OFF to enjoy even more savings off the cost of the Go City San Diego pass and you get the lowest admission prices offered!
