With so much of the park transformed for the holiday, make sure you get to experience all the unique things to do, from trick-or-treating at candy stations to trying Halloween-themed food and drink.

Trick-or-Treat Adventures

During event days, kids can go trick-or-treating in the park. These treat trails are marked by signs with LEGO Skeleton Guy who points the way toward 7 different candy stations.

You’ll find them all over, from the dino dig at the Prehistoric Pumpkin Patch to the pirate ship shores in Shipwreck Alley.

Festive Culinary Treats

Restaurants inside the park are serving up meals, drinks, and sweet treats to match the occasion. There are 8 things to try, so be sure to visit Urban Kitchen, Chicken & Crown, The Market, and Granny’s Apple Fries if you want to sample them.

Personally, I’ve got my eye on the Green Witch’s Brew mocktail at Knights’ Smokehouse BBQ and the Monster Mash Up Shake at Castle Ice Cream - and some of these treats have their gummy eyes back on me!

What Halloween event is complete without a costume contest?

LEGOLAND Brick-or-Treat holds V.I.M. (that’s short for Very Important Monster, of course) Costume Contests hosted by Lord Vampyre, with the chance to win prizes for kids 12 and under. There’s also a V.I.M. Junior Contest for kids 0-6.

I must just be a ‘big kid’ because if you check out my article about The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular 2024 at Sesame Place San Diego, I mentioned that their costume parade and contest were a highlight for my family for that not-so-spooky family-friendly event as well!

Costumes Encouraged

Kids are welcome to dress up in costume during the Brick-or-Treat event. Even if you’re not entering the costume contest, we still suggest dressing up, especially if you’re taking photos with the monster characters roaming the park.

Keep the Fun Going at the Castle Hotel

There are quite a few great hotels near LEGOLAND California in Carlsbad including the LEGOLAND California Resort Hotel, plus our team has covered some additional excellent family-friendly hotels in San Diego as well.

Ticket Information

There’s no additional fee to attend Brick-or-Treat; anyone visiting the park during event days can join in on the fun with a general admission ticket. It is included for annual pass holders and most multi-park ticket bundles as well, excluding on blockout dates.
