San Diego’s historical theme park on Mission Beach, Belmont Park is celebrating its centennial birthday in 2025. That’s right, Belmont Park is turning 100!
And while that official celebration is set to kick off on July 4th, 2025, the park will first be welcoming guests to one of its most colorful events of the year. The Belmont in Bloom spring festival will start on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 and last until Sunday, June 1st, 2025.
Located on the beach at 3146 Mission Blvd, the park makes many of our list of the best things to do in San Diego as it’s been part of the city much before any of us were here.
My daughter is a big fan of the iconic wooden roller coaster, the Giant Dipper, and I’d say I just love the nostalgia of the 7-acre park. To me, I can feel the history, almost like walking back in time. There’s surely something cool about that feeling. Add in the fair treats like ice cream and cotton candy and my family is always up for a visit!
Also, San Diego has great weather year round but the spring is one of my favorite seasons, and the perfect time for a visit during the Belmont in Bloom event!
What is the Belmont in Bloom Event?
Belmont in Bloom is Belmont Park’s spring spectacular, as they bring the beauty of spring to the beach, decorating the park in a Kaleidoscope of color. Visitors can expect flowers and sculptures with extra entertainment, music, and activities special just to this time of year.
They also have some really awesome limited-time only food and drink options that I am excited to try!

Belmont Park is the kind of place that you can visit for a few hours, or spend a whole day exploring. At just 7-acres, the park feels very manageable and is worth a visit if you or your family like wooden roller coasters, games and a festive atmosphere.
For tickets, I suggest you get a Go City San Diego pass using discount code GVSD5OFF. The Ride and Play Pass includes admission to the park and Belmont in Bloom festival including unlimited rides.
The Go City San Diego pass also includes admission to more than 55 additional attractions including some of the most popular in San Diego like the San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park, SeaWorld San Diego in Mission Bay Park, and more than a dozen family-friendly museums spread throughout the city.
You’ll find that if you and your family are interested in even two attractions that the Go City San Diego pass will offer you lower than advertised admission prices. This is one of my top tips for my friends and family when they visit to make sure they are getting the best deals.
