Celebrating Easter with a Fantastic Meal

For me and my family, Easter is a family holiday. And when we all get together, there is often food and drinks!

For Easter we have tried it all, from going to my Mom’s house in the afternoon for a homemade spread, to foregoing the preparation and dishes and instead eating at a local restaurant.

For us, eating out just makes our lives so much easier! And so that is what we’re going to focus on today as Easter Weekend 2025 approaches.

San Diego has some really nice restaurants, many hosting special events on or around Easter Sunday, and they all sound really good! It’s worth noting that these restaurants are some of our favorites in San Diego, a few tested many times first hand and all of them vouched for as quality spots we’d take our families!

A Hotel to Match

We know that many of you may have family and friends coming to town to celebrate Easter. For our 2025 list of top Easter brunch spots, we decided to pair them with a hotel that matches the experience.

Many of the best brunches are at hotels, so those were pretty easy! But for the rest, Easter brunch is a bit of a ‘main event’ of Easter weekend in my family and staying near or at the location of our brunch spot seems like a good idea to me!

The 10 Top Places for Easter Brunch in San Diego

If you can believe it, our team actually had a hard time narrowing down our best-of-the-best places that we think you should take your family for a tasty Easter brunch. But after some back and forth, I think we nailed it!

Let’s dive into our list of the top spots for Easter brunch in San Diego for 2025!

1) The Provisional Kitchen at the Pendry San Diego

Hotel: Pendry San Diego
Address:
The Pendry San Diego: 425 Fifth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101
Date & Time: April 20th, 2025 - 9:00am to 2:00pm
Cost: Adults - $90 | Kids - $34

Our first suggestion for where you should take your family for Easter brunch this year is one of our founder Todd’s favorite restaurants in the Gaslamp Quarter, The Provisional Kitchen at the Pendry San Diego.

While a bit on the pricey side, our team all agrees that the décor and design is refined and modern, and the food is absolutely delicious!

Their weekly brunch is excellent, so I’m confident in saying that their Easter brunch should be an over the top treat! Set for Easter morning, April 20th from 9:00am – 2:00pm, Chef Brandon Sloan has put together a menu of brunch classics, plus there will be a carving station and seasonal cocktails. For the kids, you can expect a visit from the Easter Bunny as well!

I instantly noticed the Build-Your-Own Parfait and the Chocolate Fountain. For an entrée, the Easter Omelet will be delicious with asparagus, wild mushrooms, goats cheese and roasted tomatoes. That also happens to be a gluten free option.

The chef didn’t forget the kids either as Easter brunch is a family affair. Highlights include the Peep Pancake, Egg-cellent Sausage Muffin Sandwich and the Hoppity French Toast.

At Todd’s request, we added brunch at The Provisional Kitchen at the Pendry San Diego to our Complete Guide to All the Holidays as a featured Easter brunch you won’t want to miss.

Prices are $90 for adults and $34 for kids. Reservations are required.

Stay for Easter Weekend

As I mentioned above, some of the places to stay are very easy, like this one, as the restaurant is in the hotel.

The Pendry San Diego is located in the Gaslamp Quarter just blocks from PETCO Park in Downtown San Diego. As one of only a few 5-star hotels in San Diego, you can expect well-appointed rooms and suites plus a rooftop pool, six bars and of course The Provisional Kitchen restaurant!

One of my personal favorite hotels in Mission Beach is having a special Easter brunch and I know it’s going to be really delicious!

The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa’s Easter brunch on Easter morning will feature a buffet with all the seasonal brunch classics like bacon and eggs plus a nice spread of desserts. They’ll have many made-to-order items plus sushi and a honey-glazed ham from the carving station.

There will also be live music, a kid’s arts and crafts area, a visit from the Easter Bunny and an Easter egg hunt with prizes!

You’ll want to make a reservation soon as I noticed that the earlier time slots are already full but the afternoon ones at 1:30pm and 2:00pm still have space!

Tickets are $110 for adults and $55 for kids 5-11 with kids 4 and under being free.

Hanna's Gourmet: 2864 Adams Ave, San Diego, CA 92116
Date & Time: April 20th, 2025 - 8:00am – 3:00pm
Cost: Menu Pricing

Located in North Park, Todd loves this place and his only concern is that for Easter brunch, it could be quite busy. However, if you can get a table, I can promise you that you won’t be disappointed with the food.

While they’re not having a special Easter brunch, their weekly Sunday brunch from 8:00am – 3:00pm is melt in your mouth good! It’s so good that we included Easter brunch here as part of our list of things to do on our Complete Guide to All the Holiday in San Diego article.

The menu is themed with ‘tastes of the world’ so you find favorites like the ‘Eggs a la España’ and the ‘Eggs a la Marrakesh’. You can also order a la carte or get a sandwich or salad as well.

Their drink menu is quite nice too with Hanna’s Bloody Mary or their Fresh Squeezed OJ being my personal favorites.

Since this isn’t officially a special Easter event, pricing is listed on the menu.

Stay for Easter Weekend

The perfect hotel pairing to Easter brunch at Hanna’s Gourmet in North Park is a stay at The Lafayette Hotel and Club.

Recently updated, the 4-star property has a retro feel that is very unique to say the least. The pool is quite famous and would be perfect for lounging after a tasty Easter weekend brunch!

Award-winning Chef Rafael Corniel will offer seafood options like lobster rolls and signature dishes such as Dungeness crab benedict. Chef Victor is in charge of the desserts with crème brûlée and Valrhona chocolate layer cake being standouts. The spread will be buffet style with crepes and omelets made upon request.

My next choice actually made our team’s list of the best Easter egg hunts as well as this Easter brunch is paired with fun for the kids.

The Hotel Del Coronado, located at 1500 Orange Ave., Coronado, is iconic. I have no doubt that like all events held at the hotel this brunch will be a high-end event.

Things to Know About Easter Brunch

If you’ve made it this far you are more than prepared to pick a fantastic Easter brunch location for your family. Below are a couple tips to make sure the day goes smoothly.

Do I Need to Make Reservations?

The easy answer to this is ‘YES’!

I recommend you make a reservation so you don’t have to wait when you arrive and especially if you have a large party. Some events may sell out as well so the sooner you can save your seats the better.

Getting There

Know that some of the Easter brunch events will charge for parking or are located Downtown where space is at a premium.

I’d say depending on the location take the FRED electric shuttle in Downtown, the Trolley if you’re eating near PETCO Park and the Gaslamp Quarter and a rideshare for some of the other selections.

Leaving the car behind means not having to find (and pay) for parking, plus it could mean a couple extra mimosas!
