A Lovely Lobby

The US Grant has an expansive lobby that drew my attention the moment I stepped inside. The spacious layout and hanging chandeliers are beautiful and perfectly encapsulate the hotel’s historic roots.

Kick Back at the Lounge

In addition to 24-hour room service, US Grant San Diego is also home to Grant Grill, an Art-Deco-style restaurant featuring locally sourced and seasonal fare that is perfect for a special occasion or a quick bite before heading to the theater.

I highly recommend kicking back at the Grant Grill and enjoying a drink or two. A visit to the lounge is the perfect way to take the edge off after a day of traveling or exploring San Diego. From Thursday to Saturday, you can even catch live music at the Grant Grill lounge in the evenings.

Immerse Yourself in History

The US Grant opened back in 1910 and has stood the test of time, still serving guests over 100 years later. Even though much of the hotel has been renovated to better serve guests and maintain the property, just walking around the hotel feels like stepping back into a piece of history.

The hotel also houses the Celebration Fine Art Collection, worth over $6.5 million.

With the many restaurants and bars in the Gaslamp Quarter, you won’t have to go far, but you also have Little Italy and the marina area for wining and dining.

If you want to try something really unique to San Diego, go on, one of our favorite tours is the Gaslamp Brothels, Bites & Booze Tour where you can find great food and drinks all while learning about the spotty past of the Gaslamp Quarter.

Swimming, kayaking, surfing and boating are popular pastimes at Coronado Central Beach, Mission Beach, and Pacific Beach.

You may also appreciate exploring the coves of La Jolla or whale watching, especially in wintertime. The Guided La Jolla Sea Cave Kayak Tour is a great tour I’d recommend to see the amazing sea caves of La Jolla.
