The Dana offers many things to do, both on-site and nearby. Let’s have a look at your options!
Things to Do at the Hotel
Whether you decide to visit the marina, the beach, or lounge by the pool, there’s plenty to do right at The Dana.
Let’s talk about some of my favorites!
Morning Kayaking on Mission Bay
Visit the Marina
Stay in the bay and enjoy the private marina with paddle boat, kayak and bicycle rentals. The marina has 140 slips on 5 separate docks, making it one of the most sought after in the area.
Beachgoers at Ocean Beach City Beach
Go to the Beach
Don’t forget about the beaches surrounding the bay area, which offer swimming and other water activities. One area specifically provides a beach for dogs, Ocean Beach Dog Beach, so if you brought your furry companion, make sure to check it out!
Main Swimming Pool at the The Dana on Mission Bay
Enjoy Two Beautiful Heated Pools
You can also enjoy two outdoor heated pools and various outdoor activities. Try out the poolside ping pong tables, outdoor lawn games and hopscotch.
Of course, at both pool and spa areas, it also is recommended to take advantage of the spa services. You can enjoy massage services, reflexology, aromatherapy and hot lava shells.
The Bayside Infinity Pool and Spa
The Bayside Infinity Pool and Spa provides you Mission Bay views, cabanas and poolside service from the FireFly Eatery & Bar.
This contemporary restaurant provides you with all day dining options. Daily you can enjoy a breakfast buffet, which features an expanded brunch menu on Sundays. Sip a cocktail or savor dishes made with local ingredients.
The FireFly also provides special service to canine visitors, providing them with a filet mignon dog biscuit and water!
The Tropical Pool and Spa
The Tropical Pool and Spa is in Marina Cove and is family-friendly. It provides dive-in movies throughout the season as long as the weather cooperates.
It also has a bar for the adults to enjoy unique drinks while they lounge by the water.
Things to Do Near the Hotel
Go exploring and see what other nearby attractions Mission Bay has to offer. (Psst. My favorite: Mission Bay Cove!)
Boardwalk at Mission Point Park
Mission Bay Park
Mission Bay Park is 4,600 acres of beaches and water that offer something for everyone.
Whether you want to soak up the sun in Mission Beach, take a bike ride along scenic boardwalks or have some fun in the water off Sail Bay, there is sure to be a fun activity for you here.
Mission Bay Cove
Whether you want to picnic, watch boat races, or participate in the Annual World Championship Over-the-Line Tournament, Mission Bay Cove has so many activities to choose from it’s hard to pick just a few!
Classic Wooden Roller Coaster in Belmont Park
Belmont Park
Spend a family-friendly day at one of San Diego’s best amusement parks!
Roller coasters, bumper cars, a carousel and the largest heated pool in Southern California, Belmont Park is guaranteed fun for kids of all ages!
Swimming Turtle at Turtle Reef in Seaworld San Diego
SeaWorld San Diego
The Dana just so happens to be the closest hotel to SeaWorld San Diego and one of my family’s favorite places to visit while in Mission Bay!
Jump aboard a shuttle that will take you directly to SeaWorld San Diego and enjoy its animal shows, roller coasters and other rides for the entire family. Encounter its famed orcas, dolphins and sea lions, or take a tour through the ocean life habitats.
