You’ll see what refined elegance means from the moment you enter the Pendry’s stylish lobby. Attention to detail is evident in the architectural details and coastal California design, both in the common areas and in the rooms themselves.

My Take on the Pendry San Diego

Our team loves the Pendry San Diego so much that it’s one of our top picks for the Best Luxury Hotels in San Diego.

To give you an idea of what I experienced while there, here are some of my favorite things about this hotel.

Fun and Unique Places to Get Away at the Pendry San Diego
Fun and Unique Places to Get Away at the Pendry San Diego

Spots to Relax

As expected of a luxury boutique hotel, even the lobby is attention-grabbing. There are lots of places to relax and even an attached lobby bar called Fifth & Rose that has an atmosphere of sophistication.

I also loved the rooftop pool, which offered amazing views of the city in both the afternoons and evenings. The Pool House lounge serves cocktails and light bites to enjoy while sunbathing.

Dine in Style

There are an incredible six different locations to have a drink or meal on hotel grounds, plus room service. Options range from the coastal cuisine of Lionfish to the relaxed Nason’s Beer Hall.

My absolute favorite restaurant at the Pendry hotel is Provisional kitchen. Not only did I have breakfast and lunch here a few times, but the Provisional’s unique blend of eatery and marketplace meant I could do some shopping here as well.

Do know that the Provisional is a little pricey, but for the delicious food and excellent atmosphere, I really think that it’s worth it!

An Unbeatable Location

The Pendry San Diego is ideally located for any activities that are part of your trip to San Diego.

See a Padres game at PETCO Park, which is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. This is a must-do experience during baseball season. If you’re not a huge sports fan, you may still be able to catch a concert at the stadium or take a tour.

The San Diego Convention Center is also within walking distance, making the Pendry an ideal choice when Comic-Con rolls around.

Additionally, the nearby Gaslamp Quarter, East Village and Little Italy neighborhoods have excellent restaurants if you don’t feel like dining at the hotel.
