Coronado isn’t too far from San Diego’s Downtown, but why not enjoy the best of what this neighborhood has to offer while you’re there?
Swing by the Coronado Museum of History & Art for a look at the art that has shaped the area’s past, or check out the modern arts scene by attending a live performance at one of the two theaters on the island, Coronado Playhouse or the Lambs Players’ Theatre. You can also visit the art galleries in town to see works by local and renowned artists.
One must-see attraction while staying in Coronado is a trip to ‘The Del’. You can take a docent-led tour of the historic Hotel Del Coronado, even if you’re not staying at the property.
You can also just stroll through the Ferry Center or the main streets of the island for dining and shopping. There’s the art deco-style Village Theatre, a cool old-school place to watch the latest movies and the hosting venue for the annual Coronado Island Film Festival, as well as cafes, parks and architecture that is sure to interest all types of travelers.

Take advantage of San Diego’s near-constant sun and warm weather and spend as much time outside as you can. Spending a day at the beach is a no-brainer, but there are lots of other outdoor attractions too near the Hotel Marisol Coronado as well.
For example, practice your swing at a local golf course! The hotel has the par-72 Coronado Municipal Golf Course just over a mile to the east and the Sea 'N Air Golf Course less than 5 miles away to the northwest. For a local tip, grab the electric shuttle app, reserve the Island Express electric shuttle, and they’ll happily take you and your clubs right to the course!
If you’re flying into the city via the San Diego International Airport (SAN) and not planning on renting a car, another great way to get around Coronado is via bike! It’s a leisurely way to tour the island for sure, but if you’re really looking for a challenge, cross the bridge to San Diego proper and take on the 24-mile bikeway!
