When I think of the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa, I think of a high-end full service Marriott property with breathtaking views of the San Diego Bay, the Coronado Bridge and the San Diego skyline.

Located on Second Street in Coronado, the hotel has three floors with 300 rooms and dozens of suites. The property also features over 36,500 square feet of meeting space which includes 20 meeting rooms.

The Conveniences of a Resort

One of the biggest reasons to choose this hotel is its excellent resort service.

Parking in this area is often difficult to find, but the hotel offers onsite parking and valet parking for a daily fee. It also provides free electric car charging stations.

Once you enter the resort, the front desk is ready to assist you with an array of services and amenities, including a safe deposit box, ATM, gift and newsstand, limousine service, dry cleaning, newspaper room delivery and car rental. The hotel also offers concierge service.

The Perfect Place to Unwind

Whether you’re cooling off after your flight into the San Diego International Airport (SAN) or breaking up a day of visiting some of the area’s most popular attractions, you can take a dip in any of the three heated outdoor pools or enjoy the whirlpool and sauna. The hotel provides towels at each location and each provides the perfect environment to relax.

What We Love About the Resort & Spa

Want a first-hand account of what to expect? Here are some highlights straight from my stay at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa!

A Lovely Location

I tend to prefer more relaxed, quieter areas when I’m on vacation, separate from the hustle and bustle but still close enough that I can enjoy the attractions. The Coronado Island Marriott Resort delivers on both counts, set along the laid-back Coronado Bay but not so far from the action as to feel isolating.

The San Diego International Airport (SAN) is just under 1.5 miles from the hotel. If you’re coming from the ferry, it’s a breezy walk of about 10 minutes.

Relax at the Pool

I love the pools at this property! The resort actually has three of them!

There’s a lap pool for staying active and a tucked-away cottage pool, but the star of the show is the main resort pool, which begs to be swam in. Whether you’re cooling off or lounging on a daybed (complete with poolside bar service), you’ll be able to see the San Diego Bay and the distant skyline of Downtown San Diego.

Don’t Skip the Lobby

This hotel’s lobby is far more than just its front desk. In particular, the lobby bar is a great spot to meet up with friends for drinks, or to shoo away those travel jitters and unwind for a bit.

Having the option of heading out to the patio was great too, especially with live music on Friday evenings.
