LEGOLAND California
LEGOLAND California is a must-see for any Lego lover, regardless of age.
The park is just 10-minutes from the resort and features over 60 different attractions including rides and shows. Also, the sister parks, LEGOLAND Water Park and SEA LIFE aquarium at LEGOLAND, are worth considering as well.
There’s plenty of fun for everyone, including little shops, and a great mix of eateries so you can grab a snack or meals while you’re visiting without leaving the park.
San Diego Zoo Safari Park
If you’re looking for a unique experience, consider the 45-minute drive to visit the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. There’s over 1,800 acres of land to explore, and many different areas and types of animals.
You will find everything from cheetahs, and elephants, to butterflies and condors. Plus, there’s the option to view these magnificent creatures not by land, but by ziplining your way over their habitats, or by riding the tram through it!
Warm Water Jetty Beach
Soak up the sun at Warm Water Jetty Beach, which is just one of many Carlsbad beaches near the resort. The beach is located at the southern end of Carlsbad State Beach in front of the Carlsbad Power Plant and offers great surfing, as well as an area for watercraft.
There are lifeguards on duty, as well as restrooms so you can spend the entire day onsite!
The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch
The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch is a must-see attraction, especially if you’re visiting the resort near the end of March, through April as the flowers are in full bloom. The flower fields are seasonal and a wonderful way to top off a romantic afternoon when traveling in the springtime.
This beautiful location has nearly 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers which stay in bloom for about 6 to 8 weeks each year. You’ll enjoy the rows upon rows of colors as well as the smell in the air when you visit. There’s nothing quite like it.
