Why You Should Go

Tyson Street Beach

Tyson Street Beach is known for being one of the most beautiful beaches in the Oceanside. The large grassy area is a nice place to relax and play frisbee. There are plenty of picnic tables to enjoy a meal while you’re at the beach. A playground offers options when kids get tired of playing in the water. There are restrooms and showers.

Tyson Street Beach is also known as Recovery Reef by surfers. It gets beach-break type waves for surfers of all experiences. You do have to be careful about rip currents and undertow. Surfing may be prohibited when the beach is busy, during the summer especially on the weekends. The area is known for surfing year-round, with bigger and more powerful waves in the winter.

Local Tips
Did you know?
At Tyson Street Beach during high tide most if not all of the beach is underwater. Walking / jogging along the beachside street is a sight with the ocean splashing against the rocky backdrop of the beach.

Wisconsin Street Beach

Wisconsin Street Beach features restrooms and showers. It does have one lifeguard tower, but this beach is more known for surfing and beach walking, not swimming. It’s not recommended to visit during high tide, as the beach may be covered in water. It is close to the Oceanside Pier, making it a nice place to come when you need a quieter place to relax.
