“I’m on a quest to achieve a personal goal this year, a solid step toward my Ideal Life is to finally get my passport - two years in the making! - and begin traveling the world like I’ve dreamed about since I was a child. It was those moments visiting family in California during the ‘90s with my mom, dad, and three sisters that really spurred on my passion.”
She wants the world to know that in a small way, she has San Diego to thank for her desire to travel!
One of Jessica’s fondest memories of her childhood was a vacation to San Diego. She still has the miniature hot pink kaleidoscope - about the size of her index finger - that holds a photo taken of her family together when they visited SeaWorld San Diego now over 25 years ago!
“That trip holds a special place in my heart, not only because it was one of the rare times my family of six was all together, but also because it was my first experience meeting dolphins and orcas up close.”
She loves to ‘seize the moment’ and thinks one of her favorite San Diego stories summarizes this the best. When she was first picked from the audience that day and asked if she’d rather meet a dolphin or whale, she was so scared that she accidentally said “dolphin” instead of what she really wanted, the “whale”. Decades later, she says she’s still devastated that she didn’t get to meet that killer whale like she’d hoped.
