Alisa Cook is our resident writer and editor extraordinaire! When it comes to writing about the city of San Diego, you can truly feel her passion for a place she calls home, as she spends several months (“not enough,” she adds) a year in Southern California, and has a small sailboat in the area.
When asked what she wants to do when she retires, she always answers, "travel!" A former educator who turned her passion of writing into a new career, Alisa is the author of several books on health and travel, and writes and markets for authorpreneurs.
Alisa also spends time in the central highlands of Mexico, in the capital city of Guanajuato. She says she has a long list of "places to go while she can," and loves helping others unleash their inner explorer.
"I'm happiest when I'm planning a trip...Next up, Hawaii...or maybe inland Spain...oh, for sure Australia and New Zealand...oh, and let's explore more of our beautiful state of California!" She readily confesses that the money she earns from writing and editing goes solely to travel and adventures.
“One of the things I love about San Diego is the wide variety of great museums, shops, restaurants, and, of course, the beaches,” adding, “The first time I visited San Diego and Southern California, I just fell in love, and made it my life goal to spend more time in this beautiful city and its wonderland of mountains, the ocean and the laid back culture.
When we moved from our Arizona ranch to our home in Mexico, we knew exactly where we wanted to establish our residency in the United States, and that was the beautiful region of San Diego and Southern California.”
